Deepest 8″ ever

January 19th, 2010

Ahhhhhh.

Sigh.

Smile.

After 2 weeks of high pressure inversion smog hell and an utterly brutal snow pack the skies opened and the Cottonwoods did their best to drain every last molecule of moisture from the clouds.  A collective sigh of relief and a massive long overdue exhalation burst forth from everyone in attendance. Pow.  Deep pow.  Totally unexpected flotation.  Jackpot.

Spun 5 laps from the opening bell flying solo before racing to make the last call on a breffie burrito at 10:30.  Cody Barnhill find’s me while I’m mid bite and we sync cel data to regroup after they spin a lap or two.  I tell him it’s good and offer to grab the camera from the truck.  Skeptical, Cody says to wait and see.   15 minutes later I get a text to  “get the camera”.  Alta was reporting 8″.  You be the judge.  Afternoon leftovers in-bounds with Cody, Kalen Thorien, Pip Hunt and Carston Oliver.

Kalen, Cody, Pip & Carston…aka Team Crayola®

With the lack of snow no one has been shooting much and it was nice to have a relaxed day working out the kinks and knocking the rust out of the brain.  Always good to shoot some facebook and blog fodder.  Pray for snow.
