Headed up along the Wasatch Crest Trail this afternoon to help ultra distance runner Alex Stoy generate some imagery for his upcoming epic “30 Cubed” adventure. Alex has decided to take Jet Blue’s “All you can jet” ticket and turn it into a 34 day epic adventure. On Sept. 4 at Black Rock City, NV, he’ll begin to run 30 K and perform 30 sun salutations in 30 different places throughout the US, Caribbean and Central America to raise awareness of mental health and well being through ultra running and yoga.
Proceeds to be donated to the Dreamchasers Foundation, which seeks to improve the lives of women and children from around the world by empowering people to achieve their goals and dreams in athletics. The Dreamchasers Foundation raises public awareness of the hunger, exploitation, illness and suffering of children around the world. Proceeds will also be donated to an under-privileged children’s art therapy program in Salt Lake City, UT through Valley Mental Health.
If you think he’s being ambitious you may be right, but Alex is the type of guy that runs marathons before breakfast. In fact he ran 25 trail miles this morning before the shoot. He was only planning to run 18 but said that he felt too good to stop. Yeah. He’s like that.
You can follow Alex’s adventure at 30cubed.org, 30cubed.org/blog as well as on Facebook.
