FernGully
Lush waist and at times chest deep ferns crawling with venomous snakes, loamy soil, granite gardens and the constant flow of water…all in N. Utah. Finally got an overcast and slightly soggy day to make believe we were in the PNW and headed up Valley X (aka FernGully) with Kevin Brown and Carston Oliver. I’ve been wanting to drag some poor victims up here for a while and I can’t wait to go back and get it again as I feel like I left quite a few images on the table up there today. The incredible mass of vegetation and the narrow canyon make for some pretty tight confines for both riders and shooters to work. Getting clean sight lines often involved wading deep into the ferns where every step offered the promise of some sort of evil surprise. From the rattler some intrepid hiker had previously killed to the spiders that kept trying to take up residence in my camera bag, this place was chock full of fun critters that you couldn’t see.
