More Faces
Continuation on a theme from yesterday’s “Faces” blog post with more images from the Retallack parking lot. One slight variation is the addition of a few color images. I tend to really lean heavily on black and white processing for my portraits. Not sure why exactly but there’s something in the simplicity of gray tones that just draws me to it. That said, there are some instances when the color is so striking that it’d be criminal to convert it. The first image here of Ben Moxham is one such image. I’m on the fence with the Ian Provo “bird” image but I left it in color for now. I could probably do a blog post of just images of him flipping me off on this trip. Ian and Karl the Gnarl both fly the finger often. With Karl it’s all love but with Provo I’m pretty sure there’s a bit more of a surly truth involved. All of which resulted in me resorting to what Ian was calling “the photographer fake out” which is nothing more than the seemingly innocuous “Hey Ian…” CLICK. It became a bit of a joke over the course of 6 weeks and I’d say it was a draw in the end as to who came out victorious in the battle for bird free images.
