Announced today, the Canon 7D ( 7D review from Rob Galbraith) (Canon USA) seems to be showing the next evolution in Canon’s dSLR technology in a big way. The new AF system is front and center here and def. has the hopes of Canon shooters running high that it’ll live up to it’s hype. Especially since it clearly shows the future of the next gen of 1 series bodies. Until then I have to wonder if this camera could kill sales of the 1dmk3 for sports shooters. Frame rate is pretty close, file size is a non-issue, the AF should be better, it shoots brilliant HD video, and the IQ remains to be seen. The real downside is buffer size for RAW bursts. Clearly this is a dynamite 2nd body for a sports shooter, one I’m looking forward to spending some time with soon.
