I shot this scene from the Alta parking lot yesterday really just to document the avalanche and skiing activity for fellow back country users.  Some of you have keener eyes than I do and after some serious cropping to a 100% zoomed image we seem to have found the snow bath of a coyote? Kinda cool.

With Alta / Bird as my new home mountain there’s been a bit of a shake up in the morning ritual.  In order to miss traffic on the drive south my days are starting pretty early.  Once I drop Tonka at the canine amusement park that is Dogmode I’m ending up at Alta about an hour before the lifts spin.  Hmmm…sit in traffic or sit atop Little Cottonwood Canyon and watch the sunrise?  Hopefully the kinks are worked out and I’ll be able to use the time more productively with the camera than I did today.  Really needed a tripod and filter kit to begin to do the scenes up there justice but these snapshots will have to suffice for now.
