Dog Daze

July 22nd, 2010

Got out last night with Kevin Brown and Tonka to shoot some sunset trail running above town.  It was a gamble to bring Tonka with but I thought he’d add something comical to the scene and he did not let me down.  He’s not really built for long haul trucking and I knew the heat [...]

Mad respect to the guys that shoot Superpipe contests and shoot them well.  This was my first time seeing much less shooting this event and man it’s a struggle.  From the super tight confines of the media pens to the rock hard ice of the pipe deck it’s a battle.  Add in the random nature [...]

Dashboard Confessional

January 15th, 2010

Dew Tour’s Alli After Dark shut down 25th st. in Ogden tonight for a Dashboard Confessional show.  27 degrees F with a foggy mist made a cold night for all parties.  Great turnout for the event and Ogden seemed to have behaved itself nicely.  Shocking.  These are just some shots from the crowd.  These types [...]

Special thanks to Shaun Raskin and Ned Lindner as well as Julian Carr at Discrete Headwear for scrambling to make a very last minute and rather desperate lifestyle shoot happen.  Shaun and Ned walk like nobody’s business.  True pro’s.  Creating winter in September is not the greatest scenario but we got the job done and [...]

Squall

October 28th, 2009

Yesterday afternoon saw some spectacular squalls blow across the Great Salt Lake.  It’s always amazing to watch the weather move in from such a distance.  The geography of the lake  and it’s islands really create a sense of scale and allow you to begin to understand the mechanics of the weather and it’s incredible fluidity.

Sunset II

October 25th, 2009

Last night brought another wild evening of light over the Great Salt Lake.  These were shot over a 45 minute period where the light was just doing an incredible acid trip thing.  As always, the clouds are the key to sunset images and last night they did not disappoint. Looking SSW over Hill Air Force [...]

Sunset

October 9th, 2009

Another sunset over the Great Salt Lake shot from just above Weber State’s campus.  I was stuck inside all day waiting for this and dealing with that so I busted a quick move to grab a few frames.  Used a 3 stop Singh Ray reverse nuetral density filter to keep the horizon and sky in [...]

Got up early on a very cool morning to take in my first balloon launching and I gotta say it was pretty cool.

The real fireworks…

July 24th, 2009

Wonderful storm came in off the Great Salt Lake.  These are shot from up on the bench in South Ogden looking south over Davis County and Hill Air Force Base where the one bolt struck something.

Action self-portraits…

Fighting off the summer heat and it’s associated lethargy I’ve been tinkering with my own coordination and the laws of physics to try and use technology to my advantage.  It def. gives me some added respect for the athletes I shoot.  Pocket Wizards were not intended to be used while riding and that presented the [...]
