Another tough one…blue skies, warm temps and the charming McKenna Peterson to rip around Snowbird with. Woe is I. Not much doing with the ski action until we get some snow but we managed to cause some trouble up on the upper tram dock where … Read More →

Fat Tuesday
Meredith Riley and I spent the morning suffering through blue skies and untracked snow @ Alta / Bird in order to kill time until beer 30. I’m not sure how we got through it but somehow we managed. It was truly horrible. I’m not sure … Read More →
Echo BASE
Headed out to Echo, UT Sunday afternoon to shoot Clayton Butler, Kevin Chirico and Marshall Miller hucking their carcasses off a couple of 500 foot cliffs. Having never seen BASE jumping in person and having never been to these cliffs before it was going to … Read More →
T-Rex
Owen is 3. He rips. He also thinks he’s a t-rex and along with his dad, Anton, showed me around Wolf Creek this morning. It was fun. It’s not everyday you get to watch one of your best mates bask in the glow of his … Read More →
Here there be monsters…
With over 7 feet of snow from last weeks parade of storms the famine morphed into a feast in a hurry. Unfortunately that buffet was laid out on a very angry table and the mountains have been biting back with a vengeance. Sadly we’ve lost … Read More →
Dew Tour ~ Saturday Afternoon / Evening
Mad respect to the guys that shoot Superpipe contests and shoot them well. This was my first time seeing much less shooting this event and man it’s a struggle. From the super tight confines of the media pens to the rock hard ice of the … Read More →
Dashboard Confessional
Dew Tour’s Alli After Dark shut down 25th st. in Ogden tonight for a Dashboard Confessional show. 27 degrees F with a foggy mist made a cold night for all parties. Great turnout for the event and Ogden seemed to have behaved itself nicely. Shocking. … Read More →
Tracks
I shot this scene from the Alta parking lot yesterday really just to document the avalanche and skiing activity for fellow back country users. Some of you have keener eyes than I do and after some serious cropping to a 100% zoomed image we seem … Read More →
Superior in full formal attire…
With Alta / Bird as my new home mountain there’s been a bit of a shake up in the morning ritual. In order to miss traffic on the drive south my days are starting pretty early. Once I drop Tonka at the canine amusement park … Read More →
Mountain Sports + Living magazine Winter 2009 issue
Special thanks to Shaun Raskin and Ned Lindner as well as Julian Carr at Discrete Headwear for scrambling to make a very last minute and rather desperate lifestyle shoot happen. Shaun and Ned walk like nobody’s business. True pro’s. Creating winter in September is not … Read More →
Squall
Yesterday afternoon saw some spectacular squalls blow across the Great Salt Lake. It’s always amazing to watch the weather move in from such a distance. The geography of the lake and it’s islands really create a sense of scale and allow you to begin to … Read More →
Sunset II
Last night brought another wild evening of light over the Great Salt Lake. These were shot over a 45 minute period where the light was just doing an incredible acid trip thing. As always, the clouds are the key to sunset images and last night … Read More →
Last gasp…
Last nights storm seems to have dealt the death blow to a glorious stretch of fall color. It’s amazing how fast the leaves drop once they reach “the” point. This is Wheeler Creek a few days past it’s prime, shot with a Singh Ray Vari … Read More →

23″ overnight
Largest overnight total of the season at Alta today and although it was a bit upside down it did not disappoint. Too manky and socked in to shoot action but I snapped off a few frames pre and post shred.
